Are all key parts you need to ask and do research on!

Before you sign a contract and pay the deposit you need to do due diligence and 100% make sure it’s the venue for you!

WHERE is important cause you need to think how will guests logistically attend? Is accomodation options nearby? Parking on site? Can you find it on google? Is it isolated or on mainland aka dirt roads and waterways that could cause issue?

WHAT it offers is can you do the whole wedding at the one place - accomodation, photos, ceremony, reception, recovery brunch etc so you don’t need to worry about drinking and driving for example or travelling time lost thru the wedding day especially. Are they a wedding venue or a local venue for food and drink cause the vibe will be remarkably different.

WHY have you short listed the venue - is it a ballroom? A garden wedding? A coastal vibe or a country relaxed energy that evokes your interest?

HOW do they work is key regarding catering - can you bring in anyone or do you have to use their 1 option and pay huge prices? Same for drinks - bring your own or pay bar prices? Do you have curfews? How does bump in work? What are their rules to abide by?

WHEN can you get the date you desire? Can you do HMUA onsite or is that a cost somewhere else to budget for? When are payments due and are they flexible? When do they need details like vendors, final numbers, menu tastings and how supportive is that journey?

The venue with food/drink is 20-30% of your wedding budget so it’s a big decision. The inclusions really matter cause if they aren’t included you need to budget for them. If you’re paying just venue alone it’s 10-15% of your wedding budget.
